Day 214 - Getting Close!

Progress:

So I got a call from Brett today to say that tomorrow the first coat of painting should be done...well spray on primer I believe.  By Thursday they should be able to start putting on the texture of the ceiling.  If everything goes well this week they should be able to deliver the cabinets on Monday.  Then again if everything goes well we should be able to do a post cabinets walk through!  When we do the walk through that is the time where we will most likely be given our possession date which would be roughly 35 days after that.  Best case scenario we will be moving in early May :D.  Taken way too long I must say.

I asked when the rock would be installed on the fireplace but Brett didn't know so he's checking.  He thought that it should go on before the carpet but he's going to double check.  If the weather stays nice we might have our rock finished on the outside of the house before we move in too.

Day 211 - Update In Daylight

Progress:
So there wasn't anything updated on the outside today but there were workers working in the house when we got there.  I'm very curious as to what it looks like now inside but hopefully in two weeks maximum we will be able to go in, looking good so far.  I should have taken photos through the window.

Day 210 - Quick Peek In The Dark

Progress:
So our house is looking like it will definitely be done no later than May 15, 2012.  I talked to Brett and they will be starting the cabinets soon and that should take a week or two.  After the cabinets are done we will get to have another walk through and will also be given our possession date around then as well.  We went to the place momentarily tonight to see if they'd done any work on the outside of the building yet and to our delight they have!  They have started the siding but it's hard to tell what the colour truly looks like (even though we picked it out) and they have done most of the deck.  Also a good surprise is that the other house is going up beside us (hopefully it goes up really fast so we won't have too much construction going on around us but we really can't complain once we're actually in the house lol).  We will go back this weekend sometime to take some daylight photos as well (peek through the windows and take window photos :P).  

Day 198 - Half Walk through For Tyler

Progress:

 So last week Tyler wasn't able to make the walk through last week so we were able to schedule an appointment for today. We weren't able to go above the main floor today though as workers were unexpectedly there doing the drywall.  Remember, I said that we were quoted roughly two weeks for the insulation and drywall and they are starting the drywall (insulation is done everywhere except for the basement) and it's only been 3-4 days which is really nice.  Optimistically maybe we'll be able to get in the house by the end of April *cross fingers*.

Day 194 - Walk Through

Progress:
 Went to the walk through today which took about an hour and it was sooo cold!  I didn't think it was going to be that cold otherwise I would have worn heavier gloves.  It was still really nice to finally see the inside of the house, I can't wait for the next walk through.  Tyler wasn't able to make it to this appointment so I'm going to try to work something out with Brett so he won't have to wait until after the cabinets are done.

So the next step is for the insulation and drywall which will take about two weeks for it all to be done.  We still have a tentative date for May 15, 2012 as our move in date.

That thing hanging down in the back of the picture is the HRV unit.  It circulates the air in the whole house to help make any moisture in the house evaporate so it doesn't turn into mold.
