Innovations by Jayman ... I'm Here! Happy Holidays!

Just thought I'd make one more mention.  I'm the 4th hit on Google if you Google Jayman Blog!!  I didn't try any other combinations so I don't know.

The real reason for the second post is to with everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, etc.  Whatever your celebration, hopefully it will be fun filled and full of people you care about!!

  1. Your efforts in your blog have not gone unnoticed. I also have an Outlook and would be glad to share some war stories.

  2. Thank you for telling your story in such useful details. Just spent 2 hours to read your blog from the very beginning. We are going to build our first house with Pacesetters. All your advise are really helpful. Just wondering how is the house now?

Wow! I'm very impressed. When I started writing the blog I didn't think many people outside my family would read it but I still tried to be very informative.

The house is amazing now, we got everything that we needed changed and now our focus is getting our backyard done and that has it's own hiccups (bobcat played bumper cars with our fence...bobcat definitely won).

My suggestion for building would definitely be take lots of photos, write any problems and concerns down so you have a paper trail and so you don't forget, and don't feel bad for asking for what you know is suppose to have been done or for items that you know are missing.

Feel free to send me war stories, I would love to hear about your experiences! I could even put them on this blog for other people to see if you wanted.

  4. Hi Artemis88, thank you for quick reply!
So glad that your house turned to be totally ok, as I heard some terrible stories about people struggling to SELL their just new-built because of amount of problems they had.
I think if you continue to describe all your steps of making your house more and more beautiful and comfortable it would be interesting to read about too because all new house owners will have to deal with it.
Sorry I stole the part of the name of you blog OOPS…LOL. http://buildingwithpacesettersinedmonton.blogspot.ca
but these are really the words to describe what is going on with us right now))) wild adventures))
Thank you for your suggestion, will defenetely post about all problems, concerns and hopefully solutions to all problems!

  5. Hey Artemis88, Thanks for writing this blog. At least I know I am not the only one frustrated with Jayman. My fiancee and i are building in Summerside too, and we are dealing with Eddie. Ever since we paid our downpayment, Jayman has been nothing but Headaches for us everyday. I would love to chat with you more about my experience through email, would that be something you would be interested to help me out with?

  6. Thank you so much for writing this blog. This is what I was looking for. Not Homestars 10 star review because of their "exceptional service". I wanted to know what happens after the paper work and it was very well written here. I decided not to build with Innovations by Jayman simply because I don't think I will fight the war as good as you did. I can feel the pain and stress from the word you posted and I don't think I will handle it very well. Thank you thank you very much for saving me. Thank you

  7. Hello,

Thank you for your kind words, i'm glad I was able to help you.

While I did have many problems with Jayman you might find similar problems elsewhere also. The other one i've heard the most problems about is Landmark Homes.

Just keep in mind that even the most well intentioned builder can make mistakes so it is good to pay close attention and bring someone very knowledgeable with you through the walk throughs (for electrical, framing, etc...we found electrical was the one we had the most problems with). As well as take your time at each walk through (even though it can be super exciting be nit picky as I think this will avoid problems in the future (we were a bit too excited and had to fix the problems later).

  8. Hmm, seems like it only posted half of my response.

Continued: I think one of the biggest tips is to test all of the electrical plugins during your final walk through as we still don't have power to two of ours (one in the kitchen and one in the upstairs bathroom). We noticed the one on the island right away but they other two we really didn't use until...well we needed them so bring your phone and charger for an easy way to test them all.

  9. Wanted to say thank you so much for this blog!!! I'm currently building with Jayman in Southfork and I've used your blog to date almost daily to see where you guys were in the process and how long each step took. Currently we have just started framing last night so hopefully today after work there will be a wall! :) Inspired by you I have decided to write an updated blog 2017 edition for those that may be building now. lsalfi.blogspot.ca Thanks Again!!!
